Building Design Partnership is to design the world’s biggest Marks & Spencer as part of a 250m-plus investment in upgrading and expanding UK stores. The 30 000m2 central Manchester store will replace the M&S destroyed by the bomb in June.

The retailer will use its approved consultancies to work in conjunction with in-house architects on improvements to UK stores and expansion overseas.

BDP is also working with M&S on new interiors and lighting for stores in the UK, France and Spain, two new stores in Dublin and a 6000m2 financial services building at Chester Business Park.
