Capital Radio opens a themed café in its new Leicester Square building on Tuesday – the first of a proposed chain following the group’s leap into the restaurant business.

Interiors for the Capital Radio Café are by The LSM Partnership in Brighton. LSM’s logo design was adapted by Basten Greenhill Andrews to fall in with the company’s corporate strategy, says Capital entertainment manager Dominic Fenton.

The group, which this week bought themed restaurant business My Kinda Town for more than 50m, plans a series of radio-themed cafés.

It is “highly likely that LSM will have the same kind of input” into the planned chain, two of which are due to open in the next six months, says Fenton.

A refurbishment of the 54 existing My Kinda Town sites is also expected, although design decisions have not yet been made.
