Carphone Warehouse appears to be without a Web design consultancy this week, following the resignation of Clarity Communications, which designed its e-commerce website.
Clarity chairman Martin Chilcott has written to Carphone Warehouse managing director Charles Dunstone to withdraw Clarity’s services, due to a conflict of interests with other clients.
In a written statement Chilcott says the resignation is a result of “a review of management resources… significant new business wins… growth in existing strategic client accounts such as BT and Abbey National, some of which could cause a conflict of interest for the consultancy”.
A Carphone Warehouse spokeswoman was unable to comment as Design Week went to press.
The news comes in the same week that Carphone Warehouse launches its interactive TV facility designed by Deepend, on the digital satellite service Open.
