IBM thinks colourful

Following the success of colourful computers such as Apple’s recent i-Book, IBM has redesigned its Thinkpad i Series in seven colours.

The Thinkpad i Series 1400 was launched globally last week in Sirius Red, Andromeda Green and Polaris Blue, with metallic options in Mars Red, Terra Green, Eclipse Blue and Lunar Grey.

Designed and developed at IBM’s in-house research park in Raleigh, North Carolina, the project was headed by programme director Bill Holtshauser, says an IBM spokesman.

Other innovations to the range include the LED lighting mechanism named ThinkLight.
