Trouble up North as designer fights back

Awards dinners always provide the opportunity for people to let their hair down and enjoy a few bevvies. But, at an awards evening earlier this month, several revellers appeared to have had one drink too many.

The design and advertising awards Cream North West saw several of the region’s design groups rewarded, but a number of categories were dropped after judges decided there was a lack of decent work.

A member of Cheetham Bell Design took exception when his group failed to win a trophy and ended up exchanging blows with one of the judges, according to sources.

As one bemused spectator later said, only in the North!
