Two world-renowned fashion houses, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, plan to open UK stores over the next two years.
Ralph Lauren confirms that it is currently interviewing design consultants for a flagship store in London’s Bond Street.
“We’ve taken portfolios of designers to New York to discuss the issue,” says a spokeswoman.
Meanwhile, John Pawson Architects – which designed a New York store for Calvin Klein (DW 15 March) – denies any involvement with the US fashion designer’s plans to expand into the UK and Ireland. Two London stores are planned initially, with eight more in the pipeline.
