I read with some surprise your piece entitled Duffy leaves Holmes & Marchant (DW 2 August). While it is true that Andrew Duffy did come for an interview here in June, he has not been offered a position at Smith & Milton Original.

I read with some surprise your piece entitled Duffy leaves Holmes & Marchant (DW 2 August).

While it is true that Andrew Duffy did come for an interview here in June, he has not been offered a position at Smith & Milton Original. The inference in “discussion… with a view to joining” is misplaced.
