Project 2045? More like project 1945

I notice that the Design Council has issued a booklet depicting selective input for the Project 2045.

Project 2045, you may recall, was an initiative to promote the activities of the Design Council. Various groups in the UK were asked to predict the future.

From the section which represents the design profession, the input illustrated by the Design Council for this booklet is the design for a rail that runs around a domestic living room from which hang various bits of electronic hardware.

Far out! Bill Gates, you had better look to the UK for inspiration for your strategic planning.

Myself, I can’t wait 50 years hence so I may experience this utopian vision for real.
