Design Bridge creates identity for Portuguese wine

Design Bridge has designed the packaging and identity for port manufacturer The Symington Family’s first wine, Altano, which is a Portuguese red table wine. The brief was to create a fun, instantly recognisable brand. Inspiration for the label followed visits by the consultancy to the Douro wine region of northern Portugal, home to the Scops owl, which has been chosen as the brand icon. The owl is also incorporated on to the wine’s cork. Design Bridge creative director Graham Shearsby says: ‘We wanted to evoke the warm evenings around Altano and create a memorable, irreverent identity.’
