Fresh talent for Coca-Cola packs

FLB, Templar Downie and Turner Duckworth have won packaging projects from Coca-Cola as the soft drinks giant gears up for a raft of spring launches.

FLB is designing the packaging for still fruit drink, Alive; Templar Downie is designing sports drink Powerade; Turner Duckworth has been handed the task of redesigning flagship still, adult brand Oasis.

Each brand will be aligned to meet the attitudes of a particular market specifically and all will be given mass distribution, according to Coca-Cola.

Alive is aimed at the teen market and will be available in two flavours: Orange Cascade and Tropical Torrent.

Powerade, which already has a presence in a dozen markets worldwide, will launch with three flavours: orange, lemon and lime and blue berry fruits.

Oasis is being repositioned to appeal to a wider market. Turner Duckworth created the original packaging for the brand, which launched in 1995. The relaunch will take it downmarket into plastic bottles and lower in price. Fanta Icy Lemon is intended to expand the Fanta brand presence in the UK.

The new brands follow the launch last year of Coca-Cola’s energy drink Burn.

Fanta Icy Lemon, which is already available in Spain and Italy, is being repackaged for the UK, in-house at Coca-Cola Great Britain.
