West Midlands college takes glass to China

Wolverhampton University’s glass design degree course is linking up with Shanghai University to launch China’s first homespun glass design course.

The launch marks the culmination of three and a half years of links between the two institutions. The relationship has been nurtured by the dean of Wolverhampton’s School of Art and Design, Andrew Brewerton, and his Chinese counterpart Wang Dawei.

“It’s quite exciting that after introducing the people of China to the beauty of glass as an art medium, we will be able to give people the chance to learn the art of glass design,” says Brewerton.
