Royal College of Art professor of industrial design Daniel Weil is stepping down this summer. – Weil, also a Pentagram partner, will stay on as a visiting professor.

Royal College of Art professor of industrial design Daniel Weil is stepping down this summer.

Weil, also a Pentagram partner, will stay on as a visiting professor. “I do not think he has got the time to direct the course the way that he has been,” says an RCA spokeswoman.

Steven Kyffin, curently Weil’s number two, will take over next term as course director.

mAmerican graphic designer Milton Glaser and professor David Carter, head of Design for Industry at the Royal College of Art, have been made Honorary Doctor and Senior Fellow respectively at the RCA. The honours were awarded “in recognition of extraordinary contribution to the world of art, design and communication”, says RCA rector Professor Anthony Jones.
