Erik Spiekermann has lambasted FIFA for its handling of the Germany 2006 World Cup identity design, which he says ‘flies in the face of effective communication’. The German typographer’s stark words, which appear on the design website dw-world.de, came the week after Germany kicked off the competition with a 4-2 win over Costa Rica.
