Tayburn called in to brand Stirling

The city of Stirling in Scotland has appointed Tayburn to create a brand identity and unified communications strategy for the region.

Stirling Partnership selected the Edinburgh consultancy following a pitch process thought to include the design consultancies Navyblue and Elmwood and the advertising agencies The Bridge and Merle.

Plans to brand Stirling follow its award of city status in 2002. According to Tayburn managing director Simon Farrell, the branding is intended to attract investment, students and tourism to the city, as well as to the larger rural area controlled by Stirling Council.

‘It is about grabbing some limelight from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Trying to create some differentiation is going to be important in this work,’ adds Farrell.

Stirling’s visual identity will be unveiled in September.
