Enterprising graphic design students from Newcastle’s University of Northumbria are planning to take their summer degree show on the road in a double decker bus. The aim is to target London design groups who don’t make the trip north.
They have funded the trip through fundraising events and sponsorship. ‘Our objective is to maximise design groups’ interest by turning up on their doorstep with our exhibition,’ says third-year undergraduate Alison Cowley.
The approach could teach established consultancies a thing or two. Doorstepping unenthusiastic clients could be the way forward.
