Full Moon marks the 30th anniversary of the first landing on the moon, with an introduction written by Andrew Chaikin. ‘Full Moon is a book of images selected from 32 000 master negatives from Nasa’s Apollo missions in the 1960s. While images of space are nothing new, the quality of these is simply remarkable,’ says Simon John. ‘The book is a story of 12 Apollo missions, from launch to space and back to Earth via the Moon. From a spread of a man’s shadow on the moon, to a double gatefold showing the scale of a lunar landscape, it creates a sense of vast space by floating detailed images on a black background. It makes you think: this is real science fiction.’
