Hong Kong’s urban railway operator, MTRC, is to refurbish its fleet of trains to a design from Cambridge consultancy Design Triangle. The design was originally created for Lantan and Airport Railway Tung Chun Line and Airport Express. Its shape echoes that of modern aircraft to link the two forms of transport. Design Triangle proposed that an adaptation of the successful design would be suitable for MTRC.

Richoux Coffee Co has opened a new coffee bar at London’s Piccadilly, featuring a design by club and bar specialist consultancy Juggernaut. Aimed at a young market, the Richoux Coffee Co is planned to be radically different to the more traditional Richoux restaurant chain. The interior, which includes lean-to bars and white marble slab wall coverings, features Juggernaut’s latest furniture collection, made from mild steel and French oak. Juggernaut was appointed to the work via its agency, Echo, which was formed a year ago to represent new British designers. Richoux is understood to have held talks with Fitch and United Designers about the project, but made its final decision from a three-strong shortlist drawn up by Echo.
