Stops and starts on Blue Train

South Africa’s luxurious Blue Train, which runs from Pretoria to Cape Town, is due to relaunch next month after a 9.2m interiors and branding revamp.

Branding and merchandising have been handled by KSDP Pentagraph in Johannesburg, with interiors by Wilson & Associates.

The train’s completion, which was scheduled for last September, has been delayed four times.

“This will be not merely a train, but one of the world’s leading hotels,” says Braam le Roux, chief executive of the South African government’s transportation arm Spoornet, which runs the service. Work on the second Blue Train will begin once the first is in service.
