Next month will see the unveiling of the Zaragoza Bridge Pavilion, which opens on 13 June at the Zaragoza Expo 2008 in Spain. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the pavilion integrates a pedestrian bridge and an interactive exhibition area, focusing on water sustainability, to form a gateway to the expo.
The opening of the exhibition coincides with the upcoming COP26 climate conference, and interrogates how design can tackle the critical problem of waste.
We speak to baton designer Laura Nyahuye about the work behind the project and how her Zimbabwean heritage influenced the design.
The cultural festival will take place between March and October in 2022, and features high profile commissions involving the likes of Assemble and Dr Nelly Ben Hayoun.
