Thomson sets up shop on his own

Ex-creative director and partner at Factory Design, Gavin Thomson, has set up his own consultancy, Gavin Thomson Design, located in Richmond.

The studio started trading on 5 September and will cover all aspects of industrial design.

Thomson joined Factory in 1998, moving from Pentagram, where he was a senior designer on Kenneth Grange’s product design team (DW 22 May 1998).

Neither party was prepared to comment on the reasons for Thomson’s split from Factory Design.
