Horseman is made lame by a birdbrain in Cowes

The Open Agency’s Cowes Week powerboat event is now firmly in the annual calendar.

Apart from some minor engine trouble that saw Southern Spirit heading back to the marina for a quick oiling (and her passengers to the Ship Inn for some Pimm’s), the celebrity tattoo quiz went ahead unhindered, off the Isle of Wight.

Quizmaster Mike Horseman, who occasionally doubled as skipper, was floored however, when one unsuspecting punter queried why the regatta was called Cowes Week.

‘Is it coz this place smells of cows?’ he enquired of his host.
