Chairman added to Verve Design

Verve design has appointed a new chairman, who will take up the post in January, following a restructuring of the whole group. The company has declined to name the new chairman until the new year.

Three of the group’s four founding members – Lea Banwell, Julia James and Gavin Walker – left the consultancy during the past six months as part of the restructure.

The three established Verve Design in October 1998 after leaving Edward Briscoe Design. A fourth founding partner, Chris Simmons, joined when his company Dome Consultancy was acquired by Verve.

Banwell was Verve managing director, Walker was new business director and James, who is now at Conran Design Group, was communications director.

Simmons remains at Verve as creative director.

“We have taken the measure of restructuring ourselves and are going to take on a much broader role. We are now much more focused on communications and marketing,” says Simmons.
