The Freedom Brewing Company

The Freedom Brewing Company has opened its second London micro-brewery, designed by Barber Osgerby Associates, which also designed the original Covent Garden bar. Three more sites are planned. Freedom Brewing Company managing director Philip Parker says that while key original design elements are present in the new bars, each aims to have its own identity. The new Ganton Street site in central London is ‘the cousin of the first bar… rather than its identical twin’, he says. The two-level venue incorporates plywood benches and chairs, with a stainless steel bar. Walls are clad in tiles and plywood. Freedom has also been asked to donate furniture from the original bar to the Victoria and Albert Museum.
