Slow, from 18 December until 30 January, is a project by third-year Product Design students from the School of Art in Glasgow, who examine the issue of speed in modern society.

Joris Laarman applies advanced technologies to evoke the ornate forms traditionally associated with hand-craftsmanship. His exhibition The New Baroque runs until 9 January.

From 17-21 December, Advent: Behind Closed Doors, inspired by the advent calendar, features 25 artists and designers whose works are hidden behind 25 doorways.

George Hardie’s new book about hands is accompanied by an exhibition showcasing some ninety images. Manual runs until 21 January.

Illusions of Grandeur, until 11 January, is an exhibition of illusions by artist and wallpaper designer Deborah Bowness, who has created life-sized images of the architecture at Over-Seas House.
