Love goes the extra mile with educational pack for Sport Relief

Manchester group Love has created an educational pack, which will be sent to all primary and secondary schools, to promote this year’s Sport Relief, organised by Comic Relief.

The pack is designed in a scrapbook format and mixes images of celebrities and young people with handwritten text and drawings, to encourage children to take up a sport, in order to raise funds for the charity. The aim is to persuade children to become more active, by doing mile- themed events. The strapline reads, ‘Making the world miles better’. Designer Nic Shuttleworth, who was the lead creative on the project, has produced all of the illustrations for the pack.

A starter kit, which provides an introduction to Sport Relief, will be sent out next month. It will be followed up with a further pack once schools have shown interest in the initiative. This will include information on educational material, assembly plans and lesson guides.

The campaign will culminate in an entertainment show aired on BBC1 in July.
