Tesco rolls out fun signage

Supermarket group Tesco is introducing 3D signage, created by RPA Europe, into its new Sheffield store opening next week.

The novel signs take the form of giant pieces of fibreglass fruit over the produce department, a five metre-long fish over the fish department, and giant cows, with swishing tails, above dairy products. Penguins march across a bridge to the frozen foods section.

The signs were created after customer research showed shoppers wanted supermarkets to provide an enjoyable experience for families. The signs will be introduced to the Havant store for further tests during February.

The new Sheffield store building was designed by Michael Aukett Architects.
