Habitat design guru Tom Dixon wasn’t content to arrive alone to judge the New Designers awards – he had an entire BBC TV crew in tow. The laid-back Dixon looks to be next in line for what has become known as the Seymour Powell treatment, with a programme scheduled to go out in January 1999.

Whether DW’s judges will make a cameo appearance, or wind up on the cutting room floor, is unknown. But Dick Powell’s arrival at the do will almost certainly be included.
