DesignWorks in Haka challenge

NABS’ appeal for rugby-playing designers to join its tournament has found few receptive cauliflower ears in the UK (DW 17 Feb). But it had a better reception a wee bit further away. In New Zealand.

Wellington firm DesignWorks dispatched a fax to us forthwith. DesignWorks’ Karen Murray writes: “I am sure I could round up a few rugby designer lads for the task. Only problem is, you’ll have to fly them over.”

Shame. Can you imagine teams from the ad world against design’s version of the All Blacks? Picture the DesignWorks boys stomping, posturing and tongue waggling while growling out the Haka – the Maori “greeting” that scares the life out of rugby internationals, never mind London ad-men.
