AKQA founder warns buyers

The founder of leading digital media specialist AKQA, Ajaz Ahmed, has issued a hands-off warning to potential buyers, stating that his six-year-old consultancy is “not for sale”.

Denying press reports that the group has been the subject of two £54m takeover bids, Ahmed says AKQA “wants to build the best websites and take the long-term perspective”.

“We are not a public limited company so nobody can take us over. A number of companies from all sectors have shown interest in us, but AKQA is a profitable group and it’s not for sale.

We get offers to buy us all the time, but we are focused on growing and intend to stay independent,” he explains.
