Under a fiver; East Londoners; Beck’s Futures 2000 Award; The Nikon Press Awards; The Ring

Under a fiver is a temporary exhibit which runs until 26 March. All the products in the display were bought for less than £5 by Ideo head of industrial design Sam Hecht.

Venue: Design Museum, Butlers Wharf, 28 Shad Thames, London SE1.

East Londoners, from 23 March until 1 May, is a visual arts project using photographs from family albums of the diverse communities of East London. The images will be posted on billboards across Newham, Tower Hamlets and Hackney.

An exhibition of shortlisted artists for the Beck’s Futures 2000 Award will show from 17 March until 17 May, and then tour to Manchester in the summer and Glasgow in the winter. Winners will be announced at a gala awards evening on 18 April.

The Nikon Press Awards exhibition shows until 25 March.

Recent paintings by artist Sarah McConkey are based on the theme of visitors to art galleries and museums. Visitors Attractions shows until 15 April.

The Ring is an exhibition of work by Thomas Kilpper at Orbit House from 11-26 March. The most significant feature is a 400m2 woodcut, cut into the mahogany floor. More than 80 portraits are intertwined with the woodcut.
