Philippe Starck’s Soft Egg chair, currently on show as part of the Milan in a Van exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum, will be furniture retailer Driade’s ‘chair of the season’.

Shaped like a cracked egg, it is made from a single piece of moulded, gas-injected polypropylene and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The chair is a lightweight, 4kg stackable armchair available in yellow, orange, dark grey and ivory. It has been treated by a UV process, which stops the colours from fading if left out in sunlight.

The piece will be available, priced £69, at Driade’s concession on the fourth floor at Selfridges department store in London from the beginning of next month.
