Ignite fires up logo for Pentad

Ignite Design has created the identity, marketing literature and website for Pentad, a business park and retail development in Edinburgh.

The identity, which launches this week, positions the development as a ‘business campus’, says Ignite Design creative director Andrew White. ‘The design work needed to express the kudos of a campus environment and play on the location,’ he says.

The development involves five buildings arranged around a central courtyard and set in landscaped gardens.

The name Pentad means group of five and is linked to the natural elements of wood, water, metal, fire and earth, says Ignite Design designer Debbie Jack.

Jack says the environmental theme has been pursued in the identity, which features five overlapping hoops to reflect each colour rendering on the individual buildings.

Ignite Design is being retained by Pentad to provide its future design services.

The consultancy pitched for the work in December and began working on the project in February.

The earthy colour palette is carried through to all the marketing literature, which includes a corporate brochure.
