Once again Margaret Thatcher has demonstrated her legendary sharpness of judgement.
In this case at the Tory Conference, when she theatrically covered the tail of a model British Airways Jumbo with her handkerchief proclaiming, that the innovative new ethnic designs were terrible.
Isn’t this missing the point – surely the new concept is about embracing the world not colonising it?
Personally, I think she has got the wrong end of the stick. The Iron Lady may have received more sympathy if her attention had been focused on the rather average graphics at the front end of the plane.
Still, we can all relax safe in the knowledge that her nostalgia for the old Union Jack-based livery means that she must surely approve of the new British Tourist Authority identity… mustn’t she ?
