Your article Special Relationship (DW 4 August), about design’s role in broad-based communications companies, was fascinating.
The Flagship Group was formed last year precisely to bring within one organisation PR, design and marketing expertise. Coming from PR, I find it helpful to be able to call on our design team to meet client requirements, often at short notice.
I hope design professionals will not consider working for organisations like ours second to working for a “proper” design company.
We offer a wide range of design work, and aim to involve the design team in broader campaign planning. I’m sure this will become more popular with designers.
