DBA advises CEP working groups

Design Business Association chief executive Deborah Dawton has warned against setting up new organisations from scratch as part of the Government’s Creative Economy Programme, unless it is absolutely necessary.

Dawton is ‘encouraged by the [draft consultation’s] strong recommendations’, but says the DBA will advise CEP working groups to find out if an existing organisation can adopt the policies they recommend to Government.

‘We have to stop setting up new things and existing organisations have to be vocal about wanting the money to aid what they do,’ explains Dawton.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport and Department for Trade and Industry are seeking responses to the CEP’s draft consultation document, published last week.
