Branding specialist English & Pockett has created a graphics package for HSBC’s sponsorship of the ITV Drama Premieres season, which launches tomorrow.
The campaign consists of three varying edits of a 15-second opening sequence, three edits of a ten-second closing sequence and a series of break bumpers.
Each sequence identifies HSBC as an integral member of the team that brings viewers ITV Drama Premieres. They show captioned portrait studies of members of a drama film crew, from the director to the runners, culminating in the sponsor’s logo, found refracted in the camera lens.
English & Pockett chief executive officer Darrell Pockett says: “The graphic treatment is understated, live action portrait photography. We decided to place the emphasis on the crew as individuals, rather than the paraphernalia of a drama film shoot.”
According to English & Pockett director Michael Berthon, the studios played a vital part in the production.
“As ours was one of the last productions to use Leavesden Studios before they closed, we were allowed unusual access to the studio areas, paint and plaster rooms – environments that would have been hard to authenticate from scratch. The rusting doors of Leavesden’s flight hangar provide a rich background texture for the sequences,” says Berthon.
