OPX builds identity to cover NBS’s functions

RIBA Enterprises is unveiling a refreshed identity drawn up by OPX for NBS, part of the group responsible for publishing the National Building Specification.

The move comes as the business, which creates IT solutions for the construction industry, gears up to launch a revised product portfolio.

OPX was tasked with creating a commercial brand that appealed more to the construction industry, architects and landscape designers. The previous design had been drawn from a combination of RIBA Enterprises and Royal Institute of British Architects branding.

The reworked identity uses blocks of colour, which each represent a different tool applicable to various areas of the construction industry. The colours overlap to represent the full spectrum of NBS products, explains Frances Jackson, creative director at OPX.

In addition, OPX has designed all of NBS’s digital and printed material, including the software interface, icons, splash screens, website, packaging and literature.

OPX has been working with Riba Enterprises for the past year on branding strategy for the group.
