Tune into BBC2 on 20 July at 7.30pm to watch The Tate Centenary. The film explores the past, present and future of the Tate. Nicholas Serota, the current director talks about the gallery’s collection of contemporary paintings and sculpture, and looks ahead to development of the old Battersea Power Station.

Starting on 21 July at 9.30pm, also on BBC2, is a new six-part series titled All Mod Cons. The series will explore homes to reflect the ideologies of each generation. Ever So Contemporary will focus on the sleek lines of the contemporary look which transformed the Fifties, Just Switch On discovers how electrical appliances transformed the lives of millions and The Pad reveals how the Sixties generation let their imaginations run wild, breaking all the rules of interior design.
