Sea commissioned photographer John Ross to shoot close-ups of Ted Baker haberdashery for the clothing retailer’s 1999 annual report. Images of buttons, press studs, zips and Velcro appear on a clean white background, accompanied by a sentence on the business. ‘We wanted to highlight the company’s attention to detail,’ says Sea creative director John Simpson. ‘Ted Baker brands everything it uses.’
Developed by Vitamin London, the typeface uses letterforms taken from protest posters found at Black Lives Matter demonstrations.
