Those seeking divine inspiration may soon have access to a selection of holy items. The Vatican is planning a chain of up to 700 stores worldwide. The first is set to open in New York within a year.

Trading under the brand name Vatican Treasury Collection, the shops will sell licensed products and gifts inspired by exhibits from the Vatican’s renowned museum.

Tie-in goods to the museum are available on the Vatican Art and Souvenirs website (http://www.vatican-souvenirs.com), including an ‘authentic Papal Blessing Parchment’ for the bargain, once-in-a lifetime price of $26.50 (£16.50).
