Sharwoods expands pack roster

Food group Sharwoods has revised its packaging design roster, as part of a push into new product development. According to industry sources, the company has focused more on creative ability than on strategic consultancy as the basis for its selection of new groups.

Williams Murray Banks and Siebert Head have been appointed to the revised roster, the latter having a structural packaging design role.

The Sandom Partnership and Lewis Moberly, both previously listed as preferred suppliers, have been retained on the roster.

A Sharwoods spokeswoman says no design groups have been dropped. She describes the new product development role of the rostered groups as confidential. But she says: “It is fair to say that it is a fairly complex market… Sharwoods is investing in new product development to keep up with the times.”

One consultant who has worked with the manufacturer says, “Sharwoods is getting much more adventurous,” than was previously the case.
