Ergo squares away packaging for Big Night In

Trigon Snacks has launched Big Night In, a microwaveable popcorn product designed by brand specialist Ergo.

Trading on the relationship between cinema and popcorn, the packaging is opened by removing two ticket replicas to create a free-standing box similar to those sold in cinemas. ‘It is very functional and tactile packaging,’ says Ergo partner Simon John. ‘We made use of the cinematic theme in an original and fun way to ensure strong stand-out on the shelf.’

Ergo picked up the work as part of its ongoing relationship with Trigon Snacks, having already designed packaging for the company’s Planters nut snacks.

Big Night In is Trigon’s first product outside the nut range and launches nationally this month in a salted flavour. A sugar-coated variety is scheduled for distribution in August.
