Artist Michael Pinsky has designed Elevation, a permanent, multi-screen animation that reveals a ‘parallel world’, visible through holes in the walls of University Hospital Lewisham’s new Riverside building, which opens on 24 May. Pinsky filmed activities in the neighbouring Ladywell Fields from the roof of the hospital and edited footage to create 15 individual animations. The installation is intended to aid the recuperation process, as well as patients’ natural thought processes.
