The fallout from Euro ’96 goes on…
This time it’s the turn of Newcastle upon Tyne design and ad agency AD78, which doesn’t believe in masking its true feelings about footie.
Staff and clients alike turned up to a recent Newcastle United game in disguise – but they were instantly recognisable. The creative bods had designed England captain Alan Shearer face masks “which almost looked better than the real thing”, according to AD78 director Alan Dobson. Is this a compliment or an insult?
The agency obviously believes in mixing business with pleasure – it is kicking around ideas for promotional material at BBC Match of the Day’s Total Football Experience at Birmingham’s NEC in the spring.
