Hello readers,

The Design Week editorial team is off to celebrate the festive season and fill up on too much mulled wine and turkey. We’ll be back on 2 January 2018.

In the meantime, check out our end of year round-up, where we take a look back at design in 2017 and pick out the best bits and our most popular stories, from branding and graphics projects to new exhibitions, design education and politics.

Also check out our Christmassy pieces, including our favourite festive design projects (Donald Trump crackers, anyone?), a hand-picked selection of your very own decorated design studios (we never knew you were so creative), and designers’ enlightening thoughts on what presents they’d like this year (“For the love of God, no more minimalist furniture, please…”).

And if you need a break from the Monopoly-induced family arguments, and the I-shouldn’t-have-had-that-last-bit-of-brie overindulgent cheese board, why not have a go at Design Week’s quiz of the year? Just 15 questions of design-based frivolity.

We hope you have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year – see you in 2018!

Tom, Sarah and Aimée.
