Allen wins job in South Africa

One of South Africa’s oldest regional banks has appointed Allen International in London to give its corporate image and branch interiors a facelift.

The consultancy won the proposals pitch to revitalise the logo and concepts for its 100 branch interiors, credit cards, signage and uniforms. The pitch included Landor and John Ryan from the US.

The brief is to “reposition Boland Bank from being seen as an unexciting Afrikaans rural bank to a service-oriented organisation”, says an Allen International spokesman.

“We are a very conservative bank and old-fashioned in what we look like,” says Boland head co-ordinator of corporate image Annamie Loubser.

The bank wants to build on its reputation in the Cape area and expand across the republic and potentially overseas.
