Arriva rolls out national bus livery

Transport operator Arriva has begun to roll out its national bus livery, created by transport design consultancy Best Impressions.

The new livery is based on a visual style developed by Bamber Forsyth, the group responsible for the client’s name change from Cowie Group to Arriva and for creating its logo (DW 24 October).

Best Impressions has designed a red livery for Arriva’s London buses and an aquamarine and stone-coloured livery for its services outside the capital.

“We had to balance between something eye-catching and simple and something that was practical to apply to the fleets. We have tried to use unusual colours, where we can, to differentiate it from the other buses on the roads,” says Best Impressions senior designer Ray Stennings.

Roll out across Arriva’s 7000-strong vehicle fleet is expected to take three years.

Best Impressions is currently doing branding work on the British Airport Authority’s internal transport system.
