In reaction to previous London 2012 letters, we have a wealth of design capability in London focusing on many challenges and delivering brand solutions that are recognised throughout the world.
The best of London’s design work stems from considered briefs, and the time allowed for appropriate interpretation of them.
This is the major problem we have with the London 2012 bid. We forgot about the EastEnders factor and tried to apply some of London’s better credentials, such as its vibrancy and ethnicity.
If all the other designs represent a watered down version of an already muddied Thames, then what hope did ours have!
We were shortlisted, didn’t win, but here it is anyway because I am now jumping on the bandwagon of free publicity.
Had it been in Manchester, would we expect to see some rooftops and a ginger cat?
