Polish employee tries to sabotage renaming

Andersen Consulting’s widely reported, and ridiculed, name-change to Accenture was actually the brainchild of Oslo Andersen partner Kim Petersen, not Landor Associates.

Petersen, who won a trip to a golfing tournament for his efforts, came up with one of 2676 suitably nebulous suggestions from eager employees, including Future Creation Group, Global Junction, Deep Thought, the mind-boggling Mind Rocket and the disturbing Global Curves.

Despite all of these hitting the reject pile, Landor London managing director Charlie Wrench admits one worry with selecting a made-up name: ‘We discovered that one meant ‘armpit smell’ in Polish.’
