Catala gives artists fast-track to fast-food gallery

Sick of the usual standard of art in your local burger joint?

Guildhall fine art student Antoine Catala certainly is and decided, as his final-year gig, to curate an exhibition in Burger King opposite his classmates’ show in London’s Whitechapel Art Gallery.

Artists including Gilbert & George, Wolfgang Tillmans and Bob & Roberta Smith have been signed up to replace ‘the usual’ Matisse and Klee prints.

Why bother waiting till you’re dead to make it into BK, Catala asked them, when you can get the glory now? If his approach takes off, you could soon be swallowing your EggMcMuffin and strawberry milkshake in front of a Chris Ofili elephant dung original.

Wouldn’t that go down a treat?
